Our Story

LikeKIN didn’t start with a business plan – it started with two people, Linda and Kristine, who saw care differently and refused to settle for “good enough.”

For Linda, this belief was deeply personal. From a young age, she witnessed the challenges and rewards of caring for those closest to her. Her older brother, Riad, diagnosed with Autism and Klinefelter Syndrome, taught her the value of patience, understanding, and advocacy. Her family’s care extended to her grandfather, affectionately known as ‘Papa John,’ who faced Parkinson’s Disease, Prostate Cancer, and Dementia. These experiences instilled in Linda a profound understanding of the importance of tailored, respectful care and the impact it can have on a person’s life.

Kristine’s path into the care sector stemmed from her passion for understanding people and the desire to make a difference. With a background in psychology, Kris entered the NDIS sector to provide meaningful mental health and psychosocial support. While working in the industry, Kris realised something troubling: many services treated participants like checklists, offering cookie-cutter solutions that ignored individual needs. Worse, the people on the frontlines-support workers-were undervalued and under-supported.

Over countless conversations (and plenty of coffee), they shared their frustrations with the system and their dreams of something better. They wanted to create a service that celebrated individuality, built genuine connections, and created a community where both participants and staff could thrive.

The LikeKIN Difference

From day one, we knew LikeKIN would be different. Participants wouldn’t just get care; they’d get support tailored to their goals, dreams, and lives. Frontline workers wouldn’t just be employees; they’d be part of a valued team. Families wouldn’t just have a provider; they’d have a partner in care.

Today, LikeKIN is exactly what we had imagined – a place where everyone is welcomed, heard, and supported. It’s not just about meeting needs; it’s about building relationships and creating a community where care feels personal, meaningful, and, most importantly, human. Because at LikeKIN, we believe care should feel like family. And with every connection we make, we’re redefining what care can be.
